Abstract

ABSTRACK

Indonesia is known as an agricultural country which has abundant natural resources. However, the Indonesian government continues to carry out food import activities to meet the food needs of the community. In order to reduce import activities, food needs can be produced independently by carrying out urban farming activities. This research method uses a qualitative approach. Research subjects are members of ROSAI who have carried out urban farming activities. The results of the study concluded that (1) The reasons for the community choosing urban farming as food independence, namely (a) the ecological factor refers to the soil and water in the area of ​​Alam Indah studio housing which is very good and suitable for growing vegetable crops. (b) Economic factors refer to the people's desire to reduce expenditure but still be able to consume foods with sufficient nutrients and nutrients. (c) Social factors refer to the desire to live healthily and to start living in harmony with neighbors to avoid social conflict. (2) Urban farming activities in Alam Indah studio housing, Depok, namely (a) Organic farming is an organic farming activity without using any chemicals. (b) The organic market is a platform for members who wish to sell excess crops. (c) Farming training is a farming educational activity for beginners who want to try organic farming.

ABSTRAK

Indonesia dikenal dengan sebutan negara agraris yang memiliki sumber kekayaan alam melimpah. Namun kegiatan impor pangan terus dilakukan oleh pemerintah Indonesia guna memenuhi kebutuhan pangan masyarakat. Demi mengurangi kegiatan impor maka kebutuhan pangan dapat di produksi sendiri dengan melakukan kegiatan urban farming. Metode penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian anggota ROSAI yang telah melakukan kegiatan urban farming. Hasil penelitian menyimpulkan bahwa (1)Penyebab masyarakat memilih urban farming sebagai kemandirian pangan, yaitu (a)Faktor ekologi mengacu kepada tanah dan air yang berada diwilayah perumahan studio alam indah sangat baik dan cocok untuk ditanami oleh tanaman sayur. (b)Faktor ekonomi mengacu kepada keinginan masyarakat dalam mengurangi pengeluaran namun tetap dapat mengkonsumsi makanan dengan nutrizi dan gizi yang cukup. (c)Faktor sosial mengacu kepada keinginan hidup sehat serta ingin memulai hidup selaras dengan para tetangga untuk menghindari konflik sosial. (2)Kegiatan urban farming di perumahan studio alam indah, Depok yaitu (a)Bertanam organic merupakan kegiatan bertanam secara organic tanpa menggunakan bahan kimia sedikitpun. (b)Pasar organic adalah wadah bagi para anggota yang ingin mejajakan hasil panen yang berlebih. (c)Training bertanam adalah kegiatan edukasi bertanam bagi para pemula yang ingin mencoba bertanam organic.
