PENGEMBANGAN NILAI KARAKTER SISWA MELALUI PEMBELAJARAN BERBASIS HIGHER ORDER THINKING SKILLS DI SEKOLAH DASAR

Abstract

The workshop on developing the character values of students through HOTS-based learning (ElementaryThinking Skill) in Elementary Schools (SD) was felt to be necessary, because teachers were still unable to develop student character values optimally. The development of character values through HOTS (Higher-Order ThinkingSkills) learning has not been effectively carried out. This is in line with the government program through PPK (Strengthening Character Education) in the 2013 curriculum which confirms the need for the learning process to be able to develop character values in students to prepare them towards the golden generation era in 2045. With strong character, students expected to be ready to face competition and global interactions that exist in the international community. The purpose of this workshop is to provide information and training on efforts to implement the development of character values through HOTS-based learning in SD Sukamakmur Region, Bogor, West Java. With this activity, it is expected to increase the quality of professional teachers, especially in an effort to succeed in the Character Education Strengthening program. This activity was held in the Sukamakmur Elementary School in Bogor Regency, West Java, which was attended by principals and teachers. The material was delivered using the lecture method, question and answer, discussion, and assignment. Each participant makes a character education learning model, which is implemented through HOTS-based learning in Elementary Schools.
