It has been the subject of extensive study by scholars of various disciplines for decades. To preserve the faithful transmission of his teachings, strict rules have been established to which all scholars must conform.
However, in recent decades, some works have emerged which are subject to inconsistency with the carefully established rules. In this article, we will focus on a critical and scientific approach to certain opinions and ideas formulated in the books of NICOLAÏ Sinai, entitled "The Qur'an: A historical-critical Introduction" and Abdullah Saeed, entitled "The Qur'an: An Introduction." This article aims to present an objective and rigorous analysis while highlighting the points of disagreement and the outstanding questions concerning the interpretations presented in these works. From this observation, the article will highlight the discrepancies with some of the concepts advanced in these books using a qualitative research methodology.
Abdoulaye Bamba Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Studi Al-Qur'an 2024-02-01 2024-02-01 20 1 1 10 10.21009/JSQ.20.1.01 Analysis of Musytarak Al-Lafdzi the Word “Kutiba” in the Qur'an: A Study of Semantic Analysis https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jsq/article/view/38478
The diversity of meanings in Musytarak lands in the Al-Qur'an is a challenge in the translation process, which causes ambiguity and the potential for multiple understandings if it needs to be translated or understood correctly. An example is lafadz, "kutiba," which has various meanings in the Qur'an that are very different from the original. This research aims to identify the meaning of the mustard lafdzi phenomenon, especially the lafadz “khutba" in the Al-Qur'an. This research is descriptive and qualitative using the literature review method. The data in this research comes from the Al-Qur'an, translations from several sources, and scientific works in relevant journals or books. The data was then analyzed descriptively to conclude a brief description. This research shows that Lafadz khutba is a lafa lafdzi repeated 11 times in the Koran and has several meanings. Lafadz kutiba means furidha (Required) found in Surah Al-Baqarah verses 178,180, 183, 216, 246, and An-Nisa' verse 77. Lafadz Kutiba means ju'ila (Made), found in Surah Ali Imron verse 154 and At-Taubah verses 120-121. The lafadz kutiba, meaning qudhiya (Determined or determined), is in Surah An-Nisa's verse 127 and Al-Hajj's verse 4. Thus, these results contribute to understanding the complexity of the meaning of "Kutiba" in the Al-Qur'an, emphasizing the importance of context in interpretation and translation to avoid misunderstandings.
Hima Roiku Dinia Unzilatun Nikmah Nur Ila Ifawati Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Studi Al-Qur'an 2024-01-31 2024-01-31 20 1 11 20 10.21009/JSQ.20.1.02 Epistemology of Gabriel Said Reynolds' Thoughts on the Concept of the Al-Qur'an Homily https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jsq/article/view/36736
This study examines the epistemology of Reynolds' thought, which initiated the concept of discourse to read (understand) the Qur'an. Reynolds made a new formulation by seeing the pattern of connectedness between texts and trying to break the argument that considered the Qur'an an imitation text from the Jewish and Christian traditions. This study aims to describe the discourse initiated by Reynolds, review the epistemology of his thoughts, and explain the implications of this concept. This research is a qualitative study in the form of library research using the Qur'an and its biblical subtext as the primary data source and a theoretical hermeneutic approach as an analytical tool in reviewing the book. The results of this study indicate that the Qur'an with pre-Quranic texts has a different literary genre; on the other hand, the Qur'an has a homily nature in developing its religious values. The concept of this homily carries methodological consequences for reading or interpreting the Qur'an with previous texts, namely the apocryphal Bible and Jewish and Christian exegetical works. Methodologically, Reynolds used alliterative theory and a literary approach. The concept of discourse has implications for assessing the Bible so that they are mindlessly suspicious of it, and using the Bible as a source or reference can be an alternative to understanding the Qur'an.
Haiva Satriana Zahrah Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Studi Al-Qur'an 2024-02-01 2024-02-01 20 1 21 34 10.21009/JSQ.20.1.03 The Relevance Between Values of Akhlak Education in Adnan and Syahid's Tafsir with Education Law in Indonesia https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jsq/article/view/36988
This research examines the relevance between the values of akhlak education In Adnan and Syahid's Tafsir with education law in Indonesia, the perspective of the surah Luqman. The research uses content analysis methods with hermeneutic approaches and comparative methods. The results show that the value of ethical education in interpreting the al-Qur'an Suci Basa Jawi and the Tafsir Al-Huda in principle is similar. Both broadly transmit Javanese noble values, which include: (1) Tawheed, (2) Filial piety to both parents, (3) Gratitude, (4) Patience, (5) Wisdom, (6) Simplicity, (7) Sincerity, and (8) the value of honesty. The relevance of the values of akhlak education above with the Indonesian education law emerges in attitudes and actions (1) Religion, (2) Discipline, (3) Independence and Responsibility, (4) Honesty, and (5) Concern for the social and natural environment. By understanding Sanusi's interpretation and context of the production of the text, this research shows that Sanusi used his interpretation as a medium to criticize colonial government policies and emphasize the importance of education, especially mastering secular knowledge, besides the religious one to achieve Indonesian glory and independence. This research explores Sanusi’s anti-colonial criticism of the Teacher Ordinance Act, the prohibition of learning in pesantren and performing hajj. Furthermore, Sanusi encourages people to master secular sciences besides religious ones to achieve Indonesian independence. This research employs Hermeneutics to analyze Sanusi’s two books of tafsir. This method provides an understanding of the social, political, and cultural context of the production of the text.
Lutfi Lutfi Copyright (c) 2024 Jurnal Studi Al-Qur'an 2024-01-31 2024-01-31 20 1 53 72 10.21009/JSQ.20.1.05 The Sunlight in the Qur'an and Its Use in Health According to Tantawi Jauhari https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jsq/article/view/40097
Pineal gland—
