Telah dilakukan preparasi dan fabrikasi briket tempurung kelapa berperekat tepung tapioka. Konsentrasi perekat tepung tapioka dalam campuran briket tempurung kelapa adalah 7%. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode eksperimen. Kajian mengenai parameter-parameter yang memengaruhi proses preparasi dan fabrikasi ditinjau dari penelitian-penelitian terdahulu. Hasil yang diperoleh dari penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan briket dengan kualitas dan sifat-sifat yang baik, perlu diperhatikan berbagai parameter dalam proses preparasi dan fabrikasi seperti keseragaman ukuran partikel pada tahap pengayakan sampel, konsentrasi arang dan perekat pada tahap pencampuran sampel, tekanan pada tahap pencetakan dan pemampatan briket, dan pengurangan kadar air pada tahap penjemuran briket.

Abstract

The preparation and fabrication of coconut shell briquettes with tapioca flour binder has been carried out. The concentration of tapioca starch binder in the coconut shell briquette mixture was 7%. The method used in this research is the experimental method. Studies on the parameters that affect the preparation and fabrication processes are reviewed from previous studies. The results obtained from this study are in order to produce briquettes with good quality and properties, it is necessary to pay attention to various parameters in the preparation and fabrication process such as uniformity of particle size at the sample sieving step, concentration of charcoal and binder on sample mixing step, pressure in briquette molding and pressing step, and reduction of water content at the drying step of briquettes.
