Abstract

This study aims to determine whether there is an effect of the Snowball Throwing (ST) cooperative learning model on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects in class V SDN 37 Anduring Padang City. The type of this research is Quasi Experimental Design with Posstest Only Design research design. The population of this study were all students in grade V with a sample based on the simple random sampling technique. The data obtained by the final test were analyzed using the t-test. The results of the study using the normality and homogeneity test for both data were normally distributed and homogeneous. The final test results showed a significant difference between the experimental group and the control group. The average learning outcomes of the experimental group were 84.18. Whereas in the control group the class average was 75.40. Furthermore, the hypothesis test was carried out with the t-test showing tcount = 5.026 and ttable = 1.670 with df = 64 (n1 + n2 - 2 = 32 + 32 - 2 = 62) and a significant level of 5%. Based on testing tcount> ttable (5.026> 1.670), H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted with the conclusion that using Snowball Throwing (ST) has an effect on student learning outcomes in social studies subjects in class V SDN 37 Anduring, Padang City.
