Abstract

Argumentation lies in its ability to encourage students to actively develop critical thinking skills, formulate logical opinions, and construct arguments based on relevant data and evidence. The purpose of this study is to describe and analyze the ADI model in relation to argumentation skills based on a literature review. The research method employed is a literature review analysis technique, with the following criteria: (1) articles published in accredited journals, (2) articles indexed in Google Scholar, (3) publication years limited to 2020–2025, and (4) keywords used in article searches are ADI Model and Argumentative Text. The results of the study show that the application of the ADI model has been proven to improve students’ argumentation skills, critical thinking abilities, and problem-solving capacity. However, the success of implementing the ADI model is also influenced by several factors, such as teacher readiness, students’ understanding of the model, and its alignment with students’ learning needs. Therefore, support for teacher capacity development is crucial to achieving optimal outcomes in implementing the ADI model.
