PERILAKU MEROKOK PADA PELAJAR

Abstract

The smoking behaviour of the middle students can be influenced by several faktors, for instance, social circumstances, the psychological condition and other supporting faktors. In this study, the conditions of smoking behaviour for students and teachers of SMP Negeri 14 Jakarta will be analyzed. The research method is used the descriptive. The data were collected through the closed questionnaires, observation, interviews and documentation. Based on these processes, the results showed that the social conditions of students influence the formation of smoking behaviour, including the habits of family members who smoke, interactions between their friends and the lack of care of the community to the student who has smoking addict. The psychology of student also a greatly significant role in smoking behaviour among middle school students. They keep to be smokers due to having reasons, such as that smoking will be able to soothe their mind, believed to reduce the tension that they feel and smoking will eliminate the loneliness. Besides, the short of awareness of students related to the dangers of smoking enhance the reasons why students find it hard to stop smoking. Even though information about the dangers of smoking was available everywhere, it does not make them stop smoking and care about their health.
