Abstract
This reserarch aims to determine the perceptions of pedestrian bridge users about abuse on the pedestrian bridge at the Margocity pedestrian bridge, Margonda, Depok. The study was conducted at the pedestrian bridge Margonda, Margocity, Depok, West Java where the research was conducted during April to June 2021. The research method used was descriptive, with data collection techniques through questionnaires, interviews and literature studies. The data analysis technique was carried out with a continuum line. The results of this study conclude that (1) The perception that occurs from pedestrian bride users is due to physiological factors. That is the perception that is awakened because of the activity of seeing, recognizing the surrounding situation that lasts a long time and is repeated. The community has the perception that with the existence of street vendors, the very small conditions of the JPO become uncomfortable, the JPO becomes slum and cramped. With a sense of empathy that arises from a person, it creates a sense of empathy for pedestrians for street vendors. People have the perception that buying street vendors' merchandise will help the street vendors' economy. But this attitude of empathy is also compared to the statement that buying street vendors' merchandise will increase the number of violations. (2) Perceptions of violators at JPO Margocity are, because of social life factors. Where they have to survive and earn money to live their lives. The considerations they chose to sell at JPO were due to physical factors, age, and the opportunity to get customers at JPO Margocity. For customers who buy the merchandise of street vendors on a daily basis, they are those who have inner empathy and really need the goods being sold.
