The study used a descriptive method of survey type. The sample amounted to 511 college students from one of the state universities in Indonesia who were selected using incidental sampling techniques. The data were collected using an Indonesian version of the Technology-Rich Outcomes-Focused Learning Environment Inventory (TROFLEI) with excellence of psychometric properties. The data were analysed using descriptive statistics and confirmatory factor analysis assisted by SPSS v. 26 for Windows. The findings show that there are 10 dimensions of the virtual learning environment based on the perspective of Indonesian college students, namely: computer usage, student involvement, young adult ethos, task orientation, investigation, lecturer support, cooperation, equity, cohesivity, and differentiation. Further studies are needed to examine the factors structure of the virtual learning environment using confirmatory factor analysis with LISREL and examine their antecedents and consequences to academic performance and achievement in a wider range of college students taking into account their ethno-socio-demographic proportions in Indonesia.
Herdi Herdi Copyright (c) 2024 Herdi Herdi https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/45472 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 23:51:16 +0700 Exploring the Influence of Brand Image and Education Costs on Parents' Decisions in Choosing a School: The Mediating Impact of Word of Mouth (WoM) https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/46037
Word of Mouth (WoM) tends to be more trusted than direct promotion from the school. Parents tend to trust other people's real exp=eriences in choosing a school, which can strengthen a school's positive brand image. Through WoM, parents can get more in-depth information about various aspects of the school, including the quality of education, facilities, curriculum, and learning atmosphere. This research aims to investigate the mediating role of WoM in influencing brand image and educational costs on parents' decisions in choosing a school. Purposive sampling was used to determine research respondents totaling 43 parents at SMP Ma`arif 2 Ponorogo. Data were analyzed using path analysis with the PLS-SEM method. The research results show that WoM acts as a mediator which is insignificant on the brand image (β=0.094; ρ=0.101), but significant on the cost of education and parents' decisions in choosing a school (β=0.388; ρ=0.005). Apart from that, WoM also directly influences parents' decisions (β=0.540; ρ=0.000). These findings highlight the importance of recommendations and reviews from other parents in shaping parents' perceptions of a school, which impacts their decisions in choosing a school for their children. The practical implications of this research are that schools can improve their brand image and adjust their tuition fees to be more attractive to parents, while also strengthening WOM marketing strategies to improve parents' school choice decisions.
Khurin Najwa Mu`minah, Abdul Kholiq, Dian Pratiwi Copyright (c) 2024 Khurin Khurin Najwa https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/46037 Sun, 30 Jun 2024 23:52:21 +0700 Overview of Students' Perceptions of Guidance and Counseling Teachers' Performance Satisfaction https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/44996
The current performance of BK teachers provides significant benefits, including assisting students in problem-solving, nurturing their strengths, and social and emotional skills. The study employs a quantitative approach with structural equation model analysis techniques using the AMOS application. The population of this study comprises alumni of the Entrepreneurial Skills Education Program (PKW) from Training and Course Institutes (LKP) between 2016 and 2018 in West Java. The sampling technique used is random sampling. Data were obtained through a questionnaire completed by 136 respondents. The results of the study indicate that entrepreneurship education does not have a significant effect on startup business competencies through the empowerment of prospective makeup artists. However, entrepreneurship education significantly influences two variables: startup business competencies (48.6%) and the empowerment of prospective makeup artists (89.1%). The study reveals the reasons for the low achievement of the PKW Program's success based on two indicators. Indicator II states that at least 75% of graduates should be able to start a business, and Indicator III specifies that at least 30% of those who start a business should earn an income equivalent to the local minimum wage within six months. The low success rate of the PKW Program in this study is explained by the limited skills of the mentors and the lack of reflection activities during the mentoring process. This research highlights the urgent need for effective mentors when prospective bridal makeup artists design and launch their startups. Mentors play a critical role in providing business insights, market advice, and market validation. Therefore, it is necessary to improve the quality of mentors and establish qualification standards for startup business mentors.
Retno Lestari, lip Saripah, Ace Suryadi, Sardin Sardin Copyright (c) 2024 Retno Lestari, lip Saripah, Ace Suryadi, Sardin Sardin https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/45526 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:09:07 +0700 Development Of Picture Card Media Based On Science Literacy On Ecosystem Materials https://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/jiv/article/view/45762
It is known that the science literacy score in Indonesia in PISA (Programe for International Student Assement) which is carried out in 2022 is up 6 positions compared to 2018. The purpose of this study was to determine the characteristics, feasibility, and response to picture card media based on science literacy in grade V elementary school ecosystem materials. The research method used is R&D with the ADDIE model, namely analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. To determine the feasibility of the media, a validation test was carried out by material experts and media experts using validation sheets. From the expert validation test, the material obtained a percentage of 100% with a very decent category. The results of the media test obtained a percentage of 100% with a very decent category. To determine the media response, respondents were filled out questionnaires by teachers and students. The results of students' responses to the media obtained a percentage of 93% in the very good category. While the results of the teacher's response obtained a percentage of 95% with a very good category. This study found that the picture card media based on science literacy ecosystem material is very feasible and very good to be used as a learning medium that can be an idea and motivation for teachers to make learning media innovations. In addition, it can help students in the learning process and increase knowledge related to science literacy skills.
