Abstract
During a pandemic, parents have a dual role in carrying out work from home activities, namely having to work and take care of their children. However, this is not easy, many cases of violence against children occur because of wrong parenting as a result of the psychological and physical burden of parents who carry out this dual role. One of the efforts that can be made to maintain mental health and optimize the quality of the relationship between parents and children in dual career families is to apply mindful parenting or awareness-based parenting. This study aims to identify mindful parenting strategies carried out by dual career families. The research method used is a quantitative descriptive method. This study used the Mindfulness in Parenting Questionnaire (MIPQ) designed by McCaffrey (2017) and adapted by Febriani et al. (2021), namely with the dimension of mindful discipline and being in the moment with the child. Respondents in this study were dual career families, totaling 93 people. The research results obtained show that the application of mindful parenting uses more of the dimensions of being in the moment with the child by 57%, which can increase empathy for children and consciously parents see children as they are as human beings, so that parents are always present at every moment of child development wisely and responsive to their needs. Meanwhile, the Dual Careers Family which is categorized as high on the Mindful Discipline dimension is 49%.
