Abstract
Overseas children often have to adapt to a new and different environment socially, culturally and geographically. Living abroad requires them to be children who can handle any situation and any condition that befalls them. This study aims to analyze how the role of parents affects the adjustment of children who migrate through their attachment. Because the formation of children's character can not be separated from the environment. So emotional support from parents becomes very important. And parental support is obtained from their emotional connection which was formed from childhood. This is what is meant by attachment. The method used in this research is library research. The sources of data obtained come from various written works such as articles, books, and writings related to or discussing the object of research. So this research is called normative research. From the data sources collected, the researcher then analyzed and the results were presented descriptively. The results obtained from this study are in the form of an overview of the differences in the process of self-adjustment of overseas children caused by differences in parental attachment styles. The safer the attachment style that parents have with their children, the easier it is for children to adjust to a new environment. Thus, the role of parental attachment to children must be corrected as early as possible, so that it becomes a solution for children in forming characters that are able to adapt themselves as well as possible.
