PENGARUH DUKUNGAN SOSIAL KELUARGA TERHADAP KEMAMPUAN ADAPTASI MAHASISWA RANTAU DI UNIVERSITAS NEGERI JAKARTA

Abstrak
Penelitian bertujuan untuk mengetahui seberapa besar pengaruh dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap kemampuan adaptasi mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) dengan menggunakan metode penelitian kuantitatif asosiatif. Lokasi penelitian dilakukan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan intrument non-tes berupa kuesioner sebagai sumber data. Penelitian menggunakan instrumen The Sosial Provision Scale untuk dukungan sosial keluarga dan Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire untuk instrumen kemampuan adaptasi. Sampel berjumlah 152 mahasiswa yang memenuhi kriteria yang ditetapkan berdasarkan perhitungan Isaac & Michael dengan taraf kesalahan 5%. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama bulan Juni – Desember 2023. Hasil penelitian menunjukan terdapat pengaruh yang posistif dan signifikan antara dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap kemampuan adaptasi mahasiswa rantau di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Berdasarkan hasil tersebut dapat diartikan bahwa semakin tinggi dukungan sosial yang diberikan oleh keluarga, maka akan semakin tinggi pula kemampuan adaptasi mahasiswa yang merantau. Dibuktikan juga dengan analisa regresi sederhana yang menunjukan statistika positif = 73,960 + 0,501 X dan hasil koefisien determinasi variabel dukungan sosial keluarga terhadap kemampuan adaptasi berpengaruh dengan presentasi sebesar 26% dan sisanya sebesar 74% dipengaruhi oleh faktor lain. Perlunya sosialisasi serta pemahaman bagaimana dukungan sosial dari keluarga membantu mahasiswa rantau yang jauh secara fisik dari keluarga untuk bisa beradaptasi dengan lingkungan yang baru.
Abstract
The study aims to determine how much influence family social support has on the adaptability of overseas students at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ) using associative quantitative research methods. The research location was at the State University of Jakarta. This study used a non-test instrument in the form of a questionnaire as a data source. The study used The Social Provision Scale instrument for family social support and the Student Adaptation to College Questionnaire for adaptability instruments. The sample amounted to 152 students who met the criteria set based on Isaac & Michael's calculation with an error rate of 5%. This research was conducted during June - December 2023. The results showed that there was a positive and significant influence between family social support on the adaptability of overseas students at the State University of Jakarta. Based on these results, it can be interpreted that the higher the social support provided by the family, the higher the adaptability of students who migrate. It is also proven by a simple regression analysis that shows positive statistics = 73.960 + 0.501 X and the results of the coefficient of determination of the family social support variable on adaptability with a presentation of 26% and the remaining 74% is influenced by other factors. The need for socialization and understanding of how social support from the family helps adaptability.
