Abstract

Laboratory-based learning is the main basis for conducting experiments on high school physics subjects. Laboratory-based learning begins with mastering skills in using laboratory equipment and measurements. In Community Service activities, measurement training is carried out, namely measuring length, depth, thickness, time, temperature and force. Participants were trained to use basic measurement tools and then filled in experimental data followed by making analyzes and conclusions. In the activity process, it was observed that (1) Participants were able to work collaboratively in teams. (2) Participants are able to use measuring tools. (3) Participants take experimental data. (4) Participants are able to analyze based on data obtained through experiments. (5) Participants are able to communicate the conclusions that have been discussed in groups. So from the end of the training the results of the questionnaire were obtained from the participants, namely students, namely (1) Regarding understanding of taking measurement steps, as many as 77% of students stated that thickness measurement was the most difficult. (2) Regarding the measurement that takes a long time, as many as 89% of students stated that the measurement of the oscillation time of objects. (3) Regarding the ability to use measuring tools, as many as 100% of students have the ability to use measuring tools. (4) Regarding the most difficult experimental step, most of the participants as many as 68% of students stated thickness measurements. (5) Regarding the need for continuous training, as many as 100% of students answered that they really needed continuous training.
