Abstract

Although it is recognized the importance of science in supporting Industry 4.0 at this time, the interest of students and prospective teachers in this field is still very low. Several things became obstacles, including the limitations of teaching aids and experiments in schools, curriculum, and learning time. The background of the problem prompted the Master of Physics Education Study Program at the State University of Jakarta to organize community service activities in the form of workshops with participants from the Physics MGMP teachers in the East Jakarta area. This workshop aims to increase teacher knowledge about active learning models and skills in the development of physics teaching aids based on smart digital devices. The workshop was held in three sessions. The first session was a conceptual presentation of active learning models, with an emphasis on case-based learning (CBL) and project-based learning (PjBL) models. Second, practical training on the development of sound interference learning teaching aids using cellular phone applications using demonstration, experiment, and discussion methods. At the end of the session an evaluation was carried out. This activity has received a positive response from the participants. The survey results show that most of the participants experienced an increased understanding of active learning models, particularly case-based learning (CBL) and project-based learning (PjBL), as well as the use of cellular phone applications and sensors for the development of physics teaching aids so that it is expected to overcome the availability of props at school
