Family Financial Literacy Training in Beji, Depok

Community empowerment, especially for the lower middle class, needs to be done to reduce unemployment and improve welfare. Weak family financial literacy is one of the fundamental problems. This community service team intends to provide solutions to the above problems, namely in the form of family financial literacy training. The target of this empowerment is housewives whose economic status is lower middle class in Beji Village, Beji District, Depok City, West Java. The training material is presented in the form of material presentations by resource persons, followed by discussion. This community service activity proved to be able to provide an understanding of financial planning for the participants who were members of the Baitussalam Healthy and Fit Community in Beji Village, Depok City.

Application of Solar Energy Bank as a Energy Source for Fisherman Community

Lopo is one of the village in Batudaa Pantai District and the center of the community’s socio-economic activities. The major source of livelihood for the people in Loopo Village is by utilizing local potential in the coastal area so that majority of the fisherman with category of living below the poverty line. Thus, a literature review was carried out to suumarize stages and processes for developing coastal economic potential and environmental management as well optimizing creative economic potential as an effort to improve quality of life for the coastal communities of Lopo Village, which includes the use of advanced materials recharge “energy bank” was made from silicon solar panel. The results program was a form installation of solar energy bank 220 Voltage that can be used by fisherman. The society had used continuously which the product was a result by this program. This tool is very useful for fishing activities at sea at night because it is a lighting tool to replace the flashlights that fishermen have been using.

Empowering Madrasah Plus Aliyah Darul Ulum Students in Utilizing Waste in to Useful Items

Garbage is items thrown away by someone who are considered to be no longer usable. The waste problem must be addressed and anticipated by all elements and stakeholders, because if it is not taken seriously then waste can cause various kinds of problems in the community. This community service activity was carried out at Madarasah Aliyah Darul Ulum in Mumbusari village. Objectively, the main problems faced by partners are 1) Do not understand in the technical details of good and correct waste management, 2) Do not have skills in using waste, 3) There is no product from waste basic materials that has use value and economic value. The methods used are socialization to increase understanding about waste management, workshops on utilizing waste into useful items, discussions, questions and answers as well as providing education, awareness and a caring attitude towards the environment (environmental education). The results of this activity are increased knowledge, skills and products produced by partners that can provide beneficial, artistic and economic value.

Technical Guidance on Making Small Pond Geomembrane Shrimp Ponds in Bades Village, Lumajang

Cultivating vannamei shrimp has dominated fishery sectors and led to aquaculture development to enhance the Indonesian economy. Lumajang, specifically Bades Village, is one of the potential regions in Jawa Timur for improving fishery products because of its long shoreline of approximately 75km. Developing shrimp cultivation requires vast funds, intensive pond systems, and broad markets. Consequently, a large number of vannamei shrimp cultivation is controlled by a large company, which will supersede the role of traditional or local fishermen. This program utilizes two main methods: socializing about the opportunity of production, cultivation, and building a business entity of vannamei shrimp and practicing creating a small pond using geomembrane as a natural insulator. These activities intend to significantly increase the interest and enthusiasm of fishermen to develop vannamei small pond systems as a solution for economic independence and new income sources. As a result, a local fishing group, widely known as Mina Dampar as a partner, accepted and approved those programs implemented in their region in a 2000m2 land area.

Optimizing of Library Management Based 5S Method (Case Study: Buluh Cina Village, Kampar District, Riau)

This community service activity aims to develop and improve library management using the 5S method and computerised system of books inventory to increase community literacy in Buluh Cina Village, Kampar Regency, Riau Province. The optimal and efficient library, such as book collections, library users, facilities, infrastructure, and library management, can be appropriately managed based on the 5S method and book inventory-based computerisation. The 5S method (Seiri, Seiton, Seito, Seiketsu and Shitsuke) was adopted to organise library rooms by arranging bookshelves, catalogue cabinets, reading tables, and other equipment. By applying the 5S method, a more optimal inventory management system and book borrowing were obtained easily. The existence of this system makes it easier for officers to put back the books that have been read in their original place. Replacing books can be done quickly; the librarian only needs to input the book code, book data and shelf locations for storage displayed. The book was inventory-based computerised, which made it more accessible to detect the number of collections, the presence of books on storage shelves, a monitoring system for book borrowers, and additional collections. Therefore, the management and services of the library are optimal and lead to the visitors' satisfaction.

Tofu and organic waste are problems that are high on the agenda in Yogyakarta, especially in Sleman and Bantul. This area is also the largest center of the tofu industry and essential oil from red lemongrass in DIY. Through the Community Service (Abdimas) program in collaboration with Rumah Maggot Barepan Bangkit (RMBB) and the Sereh Merah Farmer Group in the Integrated Community Service Program program with MBKM Based on IKU for Private Universities in 2022-2023 in collaboration with the Directorate of Research, Technology, and Community Service Kemdikbudristek, UST Faculty of Agriculture and Faculty of Pharmacy Duta Bangsa University, try to empower the community with circular and green economiy activities the waste becomes money. This activity aims to increase the capacity of the community to become an independent waste processing center, teaching the processing of lemongrass leaves into fertilizer, processing maggot into pellets, processing and packaging kasgot into fertilizer and planting media. This service is divided into three stages, taking place from 2022 - 2023. The activities are divided into three stages. The first stage is socialization of independent lemongrass waste management, introduction of soil improver factors, and processing maggot into pellets.The second stage is a workshop on making POC and biofertilizer made from lemongrass, processing maggot into pellets, processing kasgot into fertilizer and planting media.The third stage is practice and application, making biofertilizer, POC, and floating pellets in the two fostered communities. It is hoped that this service will create a circular economy where the community can manage waste independently, get benefits from waste management and economic turnover in the village. In addition, it will create a green economy, where there is no more waste generated from the activity and the waste becomes money.

As a form of improving the quality of Indonesian education and also graduating Islamic-based high school students, Al Azhar High School has a mission, namely one of them is for Al Azhar High School students to become religious beings and also have abilities and skills that can be applied directly to society. Steps that can be taken are to provide skills to be able to make innovative products made from natural ingredients, one of which is a body scrub made from coffee grounds typical of Lampung Province. Cosmetic product innovation was chosen because today both at the national and world level the development of the use of cosmetics is increasing, of course this is a great opportunity to start entrepreneurship. In addition, the use of coffee grounds also supports the main results of Lampung plantations which have an area of coffee plantations of around 156,458 ha in 2020, in order to produce secondary products that have higher economic value. The purpose of community service is to provide introduction, education, and train Al Azhar Bandarlampung High School students to make coffee-based cosmetic products, namely Becoffee Body Scrub. The specific target is to make students become pioneers in increasing MSMEs in the field of cosmetics specifically in exploiting the Natural Potential of Sumatra, especially in Lampung province, into cosmetic products.

The purpose of implementing this community service is to provide information, knowledge, and equip teachers in arrange article ready scientific for published in journal scientific, grow atmosphere academic environment school so that could repair quality education and learning with to do activity study. The methods used in this activity include: (a) lectures or material delivery or information presentation for materials related to making scientific articles for publication, (b) questions and answers that provide opportunities for teachers to explore as much knowledge as possible about writing scientific articles, and (c) simulations to provide opportunities to practice the acquired training materials. The results of the implementation of community service can be felt by the community service team and participants. The training that has been carried out has gone well, smoothly in accordance with the goals to be achieved in this activity, and is very satisfying. The YPPD Vocational School teachers gain knowledge and experience sharing about techniques for writing scientific articles and publications to journals and also expect there will be assistance from FE UNJ lecturers in making articles so that they can be published in scientific journals. This is a good response from the training participants with training in the preparation of scientific article publications for SMK teachers.

The government has developed the online distance learning process since 2014 through the Indonesian Open and Integrated Online Learning program (PDITT). Then the Covid-19 pandemic has occurred since 2020, forcing the implementation of online learning activities to be unavoidable for the continuity of the implementation of learning activities at all levels of education, including at the vocational level. So far, implementing online learning activities often needs to run optimally. It happens because teachers have yet to be able to take advantage of various applications such as Camtasia and Canva to create targeted online learning media. Therefore, this community service is carried out so that teachers can use applications like Canva and Camtasia optimally. It is hoped that after participating in training activities carried out by the dedicated team from UNJ, teachers at SMK 50 and SMK 10 can make learning media in the form of communicative and attractive material slides and learning videos so that they can increase the desire to learn and the level of understanding of students.

Increasing Knowledge of Residents in Pinang Griya Permai Housing in Waste Management through Training of Organic and Anorganic Waste Recycling by the Teratai Waste Bank

Garbage is currently still a problem for the community where there is a lack of knowledge of waste management properly. The waste bank is present as a solution to assist the government in reducing the accumulation of waste and helping to improve the economy of housewives, especially residents affected by the COVID-19 pandemic. Bank Sampah Teratai (BST) is one of the social group organizations engaged in environmental economics, especially in managing household waste for residents of RW. 05 Pinang Griya Permai, Pinang - Tangerang. Bank Sampah Teratai located in Pinang Griya Permai Tangerang is a partner in this activity. Observation results show that Bank Sampah Teratai does not yet have adequate knowledge in waste management, both organic and inorganic. Based on the above problems, a community partnership program was formed with the academic community (lecturers and students) of Universitas Budi Luhur to help solve problems at the Bank Sampah Teratai. Based on these conditions, training on organic and inorganic waste management was carried out for residents of the Pinang Griya Permai housing. This training provides understanding, and appropriate skills, which help residents to carry out organic and inorganic waste management. Based on the results of the questionnaire after the training was carried out, 100% of participants stated that the material presented was in accordance with their needs, and the material presented was also considered good by 100% of the participants. The long-term result of this training is an increase in the understanding and skills of the residents to manage organic and inorganic waste. This training has been a useful contribution to improving skills for members of the Bank Sampah Teratai in particular, and skills for residents of Pinang Griya Permai housing in general.

The purpose of this community service is to teach students how to manage finances so that they can understand personal financial planning and be wise in managing their finances. This activity is aimed at students of the Faculty of Business, Economics, and Accountancy Universiti Malaysia Sabah and students of the Faculty of Economics and Management Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Knowledge of financial planning will be taught by a lecturer and a speaker from Finansialku as a digital financial application to introduce how to use the application for financial planning. The result of this event is that students need to have sufficient and good financial literacy in order to be able to prepare their financial condition for the future.

During the last decades, prawns have become an important sea commodity along the north coast of Java Island. The Marine Science Techno Park (MSTP) was known as the largest prawn pond in Jepara Regency give a good opportunity for surrounded people to create or develop the prawn based business. Although prawn is the good protein source, its utilization in the industrial food often resulted the organic waste especially husk. Community empowerment which was carried out in Teluk Awur Village-Jepara aimed to provide the ability and skill of people around the MSTP about processing of the prawn husk into the natural flavoring.
