Abstract

In the development of mathematics learning today, problems that exist in the real world began to be used as a place to apply mathematical concepts. If students do not appreciate or understand mathematical concepts, students will find it difficult to apply mathematics to everyday life. Open ended problem solving learning strategy, gives freedom to students to determine the process and results of problem solving that may have more than one answer or many ways of answering, called open to the end (open ended). This will make students think critically, think creatively, so that it has an impact on students’ thinking skills. In this regard, this activity aims to train teachers in compiling and developing student worksheets (Student Worksheets) through a learning strategy problem solving open ended in Sukamakmur Subdistrict, Bogor Regency, West Java Province. The implementation of Community Service (PKM) was held on Wednesday and Thursday, July 18-19 2018, at the Sukamakmur District Office and at SDN Wargajaya, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency, followed by 20 participants. The results of this PKM Activity that open-ended mathematics problem solving learning strategies provide an opportunity for someone to start solving mathematical problems through an answer, and look for another correct answer in the LKS given by the teacher. Thus, learning mathematics through problem solving open-ended strategies has contributed to increasing student curiosity, also working responsibly.
