General Guidelines for Writing
Articles written for the scientific journal of Elementary School Teacher Education at the State University of Jakarta must meet high academic standards with a focus on the field of basic education. Each article must contribute to the development of science in the field of elementary school teacher education, both through empirical research, theoretical studies, and practical innovations in learning. Authors are required to ensure that the submitted manuscript is an original work that has never been published before and is not in the process of being reviewed in other journals.
Article Structure and Format
Articles should be written in good and correct English with a systematic structure. The length of the article ranges from 3000-6000 words, excluding bibliographies and appendices. The writing uses a Times New Roman font size 12 with a space of 1.5 and a margin of 2.5 cm for all sides. Each article should start with a clear, informative title and no more than 15 words that accurately reflect the content of the article. Titles are capitalized at the beginning of each important word and placed in the middle of the page.
The author's identity is listed in full under the title, including full name without an academic degree, institutional affiliation, full address of institution, and correspondence email address. For articles with multiple authors, special marks should be assigned to the corresponding authors. Abstracts are written in English, no more than 300 words each. The abstract should include a brief background, the purpose of the research, the methods used, the main results, and the conclusions of the research.
Components of the Content of the Article
The introduction section should present a clear background to the issue with relevant current literature support. The author needs to explain the existing knowledge gap and how this research contributes to filling the gap. The formulation of the problem and the objectives of the research must be stated explicitly and measurably. The literature review is integrated in the introduction by citing credible primary and secondary sources, especially from accredited journals and the latest scientific publications in the last five years.
The research methodology should be described in detail so that the research can be replicated by other researchers. This section covers research design, population and sample, data collection techniques, research instruments, and data analysis techniques. For quantitative research, the author must explain the validity and reliability test of the instruments and statistical techniques used. For qualitative research, it is necessary to explain the approach used, data collection techniques such as interviews or observations, and data analysis methods such as thematic analysis or content analysis.
Presentation of Results and Discussion
The results of the research are presented objectively without interpretation, using tables, graphs, or diagrams that are informative and easy to understand. Each table and figure should be given a sequence number and a clear title and described in the text. The discussion interprets the results of the research by relating it to previous theories and research. The author should analyze the implications of the findings on the educational practice of elementary school teachers and provide an explanation of the limitations of the research.
The conclusion must answer the research objectives that have been set and present the contribution of the research to the field of elementary school teacher education. Recommendations for further research and practical implementation can be listed in this section. Suggestions must be realistic and can be implemented in the context of education in Indonesia.
Reference System and Bibliography
Reference writing uses the latest edition of the American Psychological Association (APA) style system. In-text citations are written in a format (author's name, year) for paraphrasing or (author's name, year, page) for direct citations. Bibliographies are arranged alphabetically by author's name and should be consistent in writing format. At least 80% of referrals come from primary sources in the form of scientific journals, with priority on publication in the last 10 years. References from online sources must include access dates and verifiable URLs.
Publication Ethics and Review Process
Authors must adhere to the code of ethics of scientific publications by avoiding plagiarism, publication duplication, and data manipulation. Any citations and paraphrasing should be properly referenced. If using primary data involving humans, the author must include a statement of ethical clearance from the authorized institution. Submitted articles will go through a blind peer review process by expert reviewers in the field of elementary school teacher education. The author must respond constructively to the reviewer's comments and make revisions according to the suggestions given.
Technical Manuscript Delivery
Manuscripts are submitted through the online journal system available on the journal's official website in Microsoft Word format with a file name that includes the name of the first author and the short title of the article. The article must be accompanied by a statement that the manuscript is an original work and has not been published elsewhere. The full article template and technical guide can be downloaded from the journal's website. The review process usually takes 8-12 weeks, and authors will receive email notifications about the status of their articles.
