Abstract

Kata-kata kunci: NiFeOx, dopamin, voltametri siklik, sensor elektrokimia.

Abstract

In this research, the fabrication and characterization of an electrochemical sensor electrode for the detection of dopamine, one of the biomarkers of Parkinson's disease, based on NiFeOx using the molten salt method, have been conducted. This research aims to investigate the effect of using KOH molten salt on the phase and morphology characterization, as well as the electrochemical sensor performance of NiFeOx. Cyclic voltammetry (CV) was performed to investigate electrochemical properties of the glassy carbon electrode (GCE) modified with NiFeOx (GCE@ NiFeOx) in detecting dopamine. CV measurement was carried out at a scan rate of 20-300 mV/s in a 1 mmol dopamine with 0.1 M PBS (Phosphate Buffered Saline) as a supporting electrolyte and potential range of -0.1 to 0.4 V vs Ag/AgCl. The results of CV analysis showed that the NiFeOx sample was sensitive to dopamine molecules, as indicated by an oxidation peak current of 12 µA. This enhancement was attributed to the increased electron transfer between the GCE@ NiFeOx electrode surface and dopamine molecules compared to using only GCE.
