KARAKTERISTIK ANGIN DAN TEMPERATUR DISEKITAR CALON BANDARA KULON PROGO UNTUK KEPERLUAN TAKE OFF DAN LANDING PESAWAT

Abstrak
Arah dan kecepatan angin serta temperatur merupakan parameter cuaca yang penting untuk proses take off dan landing pesawat. Tujuan penelitian ialah untuk mengetahui karakteristik arah dan kecepatan angin serta temperatur disekitar calon bandara Kulon Progo. Adapun metode yang dipakai ialah dengan memasang empat buah AWS (Automatic Weather Station) di ujung-ujung serta tengah calon landasan yang akan dibangun sehingga diketahui unsur-unsur cuaca seperti angin dan temperatur. Hasil pengamatan menunjukan bahwa arah angin pada pos 1 dan 2 berhembus dari barat, pada pos 3 berhembus dari Barat Laut dan pada pos 4 berhembus dari Timur Laut, dengan kecepatan terbanyak 1-4 knot. Sedangkan temperatur pada pos 1 antara 22.70C - 31.70C, Pos 2 antara 23.10C - 33.40C, Pos 3 antara 220C - 31.50C,dan Pos 4 antara 22.80C - 31.90C, sehingga disimpulkan bahwa arah dan kecepatan angin serta temperatur disekitar wilayah tersebut mendukung guna keperluan take off dan landing pesawat nantinya.

Abstract
Wind direction, wind speed, and temperature are significant weather parameters for aircraft’s take-off and landing. The aim of this research is to know the characteristics of wind speed, wind direction, and temperature in the vicinity of Kulon Progo airport. The method which is used by deploy four AWS (Automatic Weather Stations) at the end of the runway and at the middle of the runway in order to know the weather such as wind speed, wind direction, and temperature. The results show that wind direction at Post 1 and 2 are from West, at Post 3 is from North-West and at Pos 4 is from North-East, with the most speed is 1-4 knot. For the temperature at Post 1 is between 22.70C - 31.70C, Post 2 is between 23.10C - 33.40C, Post 3is between 220C - 31.50C, and post 4 is between 22.80C - 31.90C. It could be concluded that wind speed and wind direction, also the temperature at that place support to the activity of take-off and landing of the aircraft in the future.
