Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan gambaran Planned Happenstance Skills (PHS) pada Mahasiswa Program Studi Kependidikan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta. Metode yang digunakan adalah kuantitatif deskriptif. Sampel dalam penelitian ini berjumlah 347 mahasiswa S1 program studi kependidikan Universitas Negeri Jakarta yang telah menempuh PKM semester 117, terdiri dari angkatan 2018 dan 2019. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah incidental sampling. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan menggunakan kuesioner hasil adaptasi instrumen Planned Happenstance Career Inventory yang dikembangkan oleh Kim et al. (2014) dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik statistik deskriptif. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa program studi kependidikan di Universitas Negeri Jakarta memiliki skor rata-rata PHS yang lebih besar pada setiap dimensi dibandingkan dengan penelitian sebelumnya, yaitu 4,23 untuk rata-rata pada dimensi optimisme, 4,07 untuk fleksibilitas, 4,06 untuk ketekunan, 4,19 untuk rasa ingin tahu, dan 3,97 untuk pengambilan risiko. Dimensi optimisme memiliki skor rata-rata tertinggi dan dimensi pengambilan risiko memiliki skor rata-rata terendah. Hal ini menunjukkan bahwa, mahasiswa cenderung dapat melihat peluang baru dari peristiwa tak terduga sebagai suatu kemungkinan yang dapat dicapai. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian ini, pihak Universitas dapat mengembangkan PHS pada mahasiswa, khususnya pada dimensi pengambilan risiko dengan mengembangkan mata kuliah dasar kependidikan seperti Landasan Pendidikan, Teori Belajar dan Pembelajaran, dan Perkembangan Peserta Didik, maupun menyediakan berbagai program, seperti program magang, seminar/workshop, dan program kewirausahaan agar dapat membantu mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan kemampuan mengambil risiko.
