License & Copyright

Copyright Policy – J-KOMA

J-KOMA allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without any restrictions and to retain publishing rights without any limitations.

J-KOMA applies the CC-BY (Creative Commons Attribution) license or an equivalent license as the optimal framework for the publication, distribution, use, and reuse of scholarly works.

In developing strategies and setting priorities, J-KOMA recognizes that free access is better than priced access, libre access is better than free access, and libre under CC-BY or equivalent is better than libre under more restrictive open licenses.

We aim to achieve what is possible when it is possible. We should not delay achieving free access in order to achieve libre access, and we should not stop at free access when we can achieve full libre access.

You are free to:

The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.

Copyright Without Restrictions

The journal allows the author(s) to hold the copyright without any restrictions and to retain publishing rights without any limitations.

Submitted manuscripts are assumed to contain no proprietary material that is unprotected by patent or under patent application. Responsibility for the technical content and for protecting proprietary material rests solely with the author(s) and their organizations, not with the J-KOMA Editorial Board.

The main (first/corresponding) author is responsible for ensuring that the article has been seen and approved by all co-authors. Authors are also responsible for obtaining all necessary copyright permissions for the use of copyrighted materials in their manuscripts prior to submission.
