Abstract

The more advanced telecommunications technology at PT PLN, the communication system network has used the latest technology, namely fiber optics. But in field actions, there are often complaints that there are disturbances in receiving and sending the SCADA (System Control and Data Acquisition) communication system at PLN. The variables to be investigated in this study are the calculation of signal quality, fiber optic attenuation, and data interference on the fiber optic network in the SCADA communication system at PT. PLN UP3 Bekasi. The device needed in this research is OTDR (Optical Time Domain Reflector). From the results of the analysis of this study, the measurement of the initial activation still requires fiber optic cable repair at several points to meet the standards applied at PT. Indonesia Comnet Plus. On the Durikosambi – Development link, the measurement results after repairs using OT have an average attenuation value of 2,399 dB and an average attenuation value of the calculation of the link power budget of 4.673 dB. From the results of attenuation measurements using OTDR on two links, the difference in attenuation values in each core indicates a decrease in the quality of the link.
