Abstract

The purpose of this research is to design an IoT based hydroponics monitoring system using Raspberry Pi to minimize the effort of monitoring hydroponic’s principal amounts that is needed to be measured. The design of the hydroponic monitoring system is carried out by making a monitoring box. The research was conducted using the Research & Development method. The proposed system uses Raspberry Pi as microcontroller, DHT22 and HC-SR04 ultrasonic sensor as inputs, and Telegram as internet of things. The advantage of IoT based hydroponics monitoring system is that it is easy to use, and can be accessed remotely in real- time. The results showed that the system created was able to monitor the temperature, humidity, and water level and send the data directly to the user. DHT22 has an accuracy rate with error percentage of 1.15% for temperature, and 0.97% for humidity compared to a comparison measuring instruument. HC-SR04 has an accuracy rate with error percentage of 1.3% compared to a comparison measuring instrument.
