The purpose of this study is to develop a library visitor restriction system, to create and test library visitor restrictions system based on the internet of things to be able to provide registration services for visits to the library by a smartphone application and limit the number of visitors not to exceed the quota limit to avoid crowds to reduce the spread of coronavirus. This study uses the research and development method developed by Borg & Gall with 4 stages that are: the analysis stage, the design stage, the development stage, and the testing stage. The result of the research of library visitor restriction system- based internet of things can be realized by combining sub-systems including ESP32, RFID reader and tag, LCD 16 X 2, IR sensor module and servo motor. Using the firebase realtime database as a database and smartphone application based android operating system to register visits. The system has been tested and the results are that the smartphone app can provide information about the number of incoming visitors, outgoing visitor, visitors who are in the library, and able to register RFID cards, smartphone app are also able to close registration automatically when the registration quota has been met. The servo motor can open the door when the RFID card that has been registered via the smartphone app is brought close to RFID reader while the LCD display the card registration status. The visit data will be deleted when the visitor presses the exit button on the smartphone app so that when the visitor has left, her not be able to enter again.
