About the Journal

Melancong is a national tourism journal published twice a year, in April and November. Melancong focuses on three main aspects in tourism studies: travel, tourist destinations, and hospitality. Published by the the Tour and Travel Business Study Program, Faculty of Social Sciences and Law, Jakarta State University, this journal carries the mission to be actively involved in disseminating new ideas from field research and literature in fields of study relevant to our focus.

Based on the nature of tourism studies as a highly interdisciplinary field of science, we invite writers from various perspectives and other disciplines, in addition to travel, tourist destinations, and hospitality studies—geography, anthropology, sociology, management, economics, history, archeology, regional and city planning, environmental science, development studies, education, religious studies, and others—to contribute ideas in order to enliven academic discourse and try to educate tourism practices amidst the rapid development of the tourism sector in the country in the last decade.
