Dekonstruksi Sungkun sebagai Medium Identitas Perempuan Kerinci

Penelitian ini membahas sungkun merupakan salah satu atribut pakaian adat perempuan Kerinci, Provinsi Jambi sebagai teks budaya yang menjahit identitas, nilai, dan struktur sosial melalui tubuh perempuan. Dalam tradisi masyarakat Kerinci, sungkun tidak sekadar berfungsi sebagai busana, melainkan memuat lapisan simbolik yang mengatur bagaimana tubuh perempuan dipresentasikan, dimaknai, dan diatur dalam konteks adat, spiritualitas, dan relasi sosial. Dengan pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dan metode etnografi simbolik, penelitian ini menelusuri makna yang terkandung dalam elemen visual sungkun serta praktik pemakaiannya dalam kehidupan ritual dan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa sungkun merupakan medium performatif yang menampilkan konstruksi identitas perempuan sebagai penjaga moralitas, penjaga adat, dan pewaris nilai kosmologis. Melalui pendekatan dekonstruksi, artikel ini juga mengungkap transformasi makna sungkun dalam lanskap budaya kontemporer, ketika ia mengalami resemantisasi melalui seni pertunjukan, festival budaya, dan media visual. Dengan demikian, sungkun menjadi ruang negosiasi antara warisan tradisi dan ekspresi identitas modern perempuan Kerinci. Artikel ini berkontribusi dalam kajian seni, budaya, dan gender dengan menawarkan pembacaan baru terhadap artefak tekstil sebagai teks simbolik dan tubuh sebagai medium naratif.
