The development of digital technology and social media has facilitated access to information while simultaneously creating risks of digital crime that disproportionately affect women. Women need to have a strong understanding of digital literacy to participate safely, productively, and equally in digital spaces. This study systematically reviews the literature (Systematic Literature Review/SLR) to examine the importance of digital literacy and social media ethics in protecting women from digital crime based on a search of the Scopus database and other supporting data sources. The findings indicate that the level of digital literacy among women varies across regions and social groups. The most prominent weaknesses are found in digital security and information verification skills. Social media ethics play an important role in preventing social conflicts and the misuse of personal data in digital spaces. Community-based interventions, such as training and mentoring programs for women's groups, have proven effective in sustainably improving digital awareness and skills. These findings emphasize the importance of strengthening digital literacy and social media ethics as preventive strategies to protect women from digital crime while promoting equal access and participation of women in digital spaces.
