This research explores developing interactive storybooks using artificial intelligence (AI) to integrate local wisdom and enhance ecological literacy among elementary school students in Aceh. The primary goal is to create educational tools that build environmental awareness through engaging, culturally relevant narratives. The research employs a design-based methodology, combining AI technology with traditional storytelling methods. Through iterative development, the study produces storybooks that incorporate local ecological knowledge and integrate interactive elements that stimulate critical thinking and environmental responsibility. The study also evaluates the effectiveness of these storybooks in improving students' understanding of ecological issues, using both qualitative and quantitative assessments. Findings suggest that AI-assisted interactive storybooks can significantly enhance ecological literacy while promoting local cultural values. This paper contributes to Indonesian Language and Literature Education by bridging modern technology with local traditions and offering a novel approach to environmental education for young learners.
