This research focuses on the phenomenon of assignment jockeys on digital platforms such as Telegram, indicating a change or transformation of educational values into commodities. This research aims to analyze the practice through the lens of Pierre Bourdieu's capital theory (economic capital, social capital, and cultural capital) and Erving Goffman's dramaturgy. Using the netnography method, data was collected through participant observation in one Telegram group and using in-depth interviews with four student users and one assignment jockey group admin. The findings revealed that: (1) There is a hidden market where economic capital is converted into cultural capital (assignment value); (2) The role of social capital in accessing exclusive jockey networks; and finally (3) Students' dramaturgical strategies in separating ‘front stage’ (pseudo academic performance) and ‘back stage’ (illegal transactions). This study contributes to a critique of the capitalization of higher education and the hypocrisy of the academic evaluation system. Policy recommendations are proposed to tighten the supervision of project-based assignments.
