Analisis perbandingan Multikulturalisme sebagai kebijakan publik antara Indonesia dengan Kanada

Abstrak
Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk mengartikulasikan dan membandingkan bagaimana praktik multikulturalisme sebagai kebijakan publik antara Indonesia dengan Kanada. Menjawab tujuan dari artikel ini, penulis menggunakan metode studi pustaka dimana penulis menghimpun data dan literatur kemudian diusung dalam karya ilmiah. Konsepsi multikulturalisme seringkali menimbulkan pemahaman ketika orang memperdebatkan tantangan dan manfaatnya. Sebagian besar membayangkan tentang esensi multikulturalisme yang ditekankan pada apakah multikulturalisme diekspresikan dalam kebijakan publik, hukum dan peraturan yang konkret sebagai bentuk orientasi khusus oleh pemerintah atau lembaga. Pada tulisan ini, penulis mengkaji esensi multikulturalisme dari sudut pandang kebijakan publik yang ditetapkan oleh Indonesia dan Kanada. Perbandingan kebijakan tersebut ditinjau dari beberapa indikator penilaian startegis multikulturalisme. Meskipun antara kedua kebijakan multikulturalisme indonesia dan kanada memiliki tujuan serta landasan hukum yang tak jauh berbeda, akan tetapi terdapat perbedaan di antara keduanya. Perbedaan tersebut terdapat pada sejarah awal munculnya multikulturalisme masing-masing negara, pendekatan dasar perkembangan multikulturalisme, fokus dan arah kebijakan multikulturalisme.
