Abstract

Waste management is becoming an increasingly complex challenge as the population and community activities increase. One of the main problems faced is the long queue of garbage trucks at the Final Processing Site (TPA), which can hamper operational efficiency. This research aims to develop a web-based queue simulation system at Terjun Landfill using the Monte Carlo method, in order to optimise waste processing and reduce queue times. Using historical data of garbage truck arrivals, the simulation maps the probability distribution of truck arrivals and queue times. The simulation results show that the day with the highest frequency of truck arrivals is Friday, followed by Thursday and Sunday, with an average number of trucks per day of about 227 trucks. The predicted number of trucks per week is 1,592 trucks, with a queue time of about 2 minutes 24 seconds per truck. The system is expected to improve operational efficiency and reduce queue congestion at Terjun Landfill.
