SASKARA: Indonesian Journal of Society Studies is a peer-reviewed academic journal published biannually (July and December) by the Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian (LPPM) Universitas Negeri Jakarta and operated by Laboratory of Sociology within the Faculty of Social Sciences at Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ). Established in 2021, the journal serves as a dedicated platform for disseminating research findings that illuminate the evolving landscape of Indonesian society.
SASKARA: Indonesian Journal of Society Studies debuted in 2021, marking a significant milestone for Universitas Negeri Jakarta's (UNJ) commitment to fostering scholarly discourse on Indonesian social change. The journal's official launch coincided with the publication of its inaugural issue, Volume 01, Number 01, on the dedicated website: http://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/ijrs/.
Since then, SASKARA has operated under the auspices of LPPM-UNJ (Lembaga Penelitian dan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat), UNJ's institute dedicated to research and community service. LPPM-UNJ's support has been instrumental in providing the resources and infrastructure necessary for SASKARA's successful establishment and ongoing development.
The inaugural year saw SASKARA establish its core editorial team, develop its rigorous peer-review process, and begin soliciting high-quality research submissions from Indonesian and international scholars. The journal actively sought to raise awareness within the academic community about its focus on Indonesian social change research.
Building on this initial foundation, SASKARA has continued to evolve in its subsequent years. The journal has seen an increase in the number and quality of research articles submitted for publication. It has also expanded its network of reviewers, attracting esteemed scholars with expertise in various aspects of Indonesian society.
Looking ahead, SASKARA remains committed to serving as a premier platform for disseminating cutting-edge research on Indonesian social change. The journal strives to foster a dynamic intellectual space where scholars can engage in critical dialogue and contribute to a deeper understanding of Indonesia's evolving social landscape.
