Journal History

Jurnal Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Madani (JPMM) was established to support the dissemination of scholarly works derived from community empowerment and engagement activities, particularly in the areas of economics, business, education, and socio-cultural development. The journal was designed to bridge academic knowledge and practical implementation, ensuring that research outcomes contribute directly to societal impact.

Since its inception, JPMM has demonstrated continuous development and increasing recognition among academics and practitioners. This growth is reflected in the rising number of manuscript submissions from authors across various institutions. Responding to this positive trend, starting from the December 2018 edition, the journal increased the number of published articles per issue from 10 to 12 articles to accommodate the growing demand while maintaining editorial quality standards.

A significant milestone in the journal’s development was achieved in the December 2022 edition, when JPMM undertook a comprehensive enhancement of its journal identity and governance. This included an updated journal cover design and the formal inclusion of the editorial board and reviewer team, strengthening transparency, accountability, and the rigor of the peer-review process. These improvements marked JPMM’s commitment to continuous quality assurance and alignment with national and international journal management standards.

Through these progressive developments, JPMM continues to evolve as a credible and impactful journal that supports knowledge-based community empowerment and contributes to the advancement of applied economics and business education in Indonesia.
