This community service activity aimed to improve students’ understanding of emotional management and effective
communication in preparing for life after formal education. The activity was conducted on May 6th, 2026, at MAN
4 Banjar involving approximately 50 students from classes XI D and XI G. The methods used included interactive
presentations, communication simulations, discussions, participatory observations, and reflective evaluations
through open-ended questions before and after the activity. The implementation focused on increasing students’
awareness of emotional regulation and interpersonal communication skills in social environments. The results
indicated positive changes in participants’ responses and involvement throughout the activity. Initially, students
tended to be passive and hesitant to express their opinions. After participating in the activity, students became more
engaged in discussions, more confident in communicating their ideas, and showed a broader understanding of
communication as a reciprocal process. Participants also demonstrated better awareness of emotional regulation and
self-understanding through their reflections and interactions during the session. Interactive and participatory
approaches were considered effective in creating a supportive learning environment for adolescents. Therefore,
community service activities focusing on emotional and social skills are important to help adolescents develop
readiness in facing social transitions after formal education.
