Abstract

Thia international community service program was conducted to address academic writing, research methodology, and scientific publication challenges among international Chinese student enrolled in the Master’s program in Educational Management at Universitas Negeri Jakarta. The participants experienced difficulties in conducting critical literature reviews, developing appropriate research designs, selecting valid data collection instruments and analysis techniques, and transforming research findings into thesis and journal manuscripts. To address these challenges, the program provided a structured and collaborative academic writing guidance program consisting of academic skills training, research methodology strengthening, and intensive assistance in preparing research reports and journal manuscripts. The implementation was carried out through several stages, including problem identification and formulation with partners, solution development, training preparation, workshops, mentoring, evaluation, and follow-up planning. The activities included training in scientific writing, academic technology, research ethics, critical reading of Scopus and web of science indexed journals, literature matrix development, and the use of reference management software such as Mendeley and Zotero. The evaluation indicated that participants gained improved skills in preparing thesis proposals, developing research methodologies, synthesizing scholarly literature, and reporting research findings. The program is expected to support students in continuing their research and completing their studies on time while strengthening UNJ’s contribution to quality education and global partnerships.
