This study aims to map the groundwater potential in Dairi Regency by utilizing Geographic Information System (GIS) technology as an effort to support sustainable water resource management. Dairi Regency is one of the regions in North Sumatra Province that has varied topographic conditions, ranging from lowlands to hilly areas, with relatively high rainfall throughout the year. These conditions result in different groundwater potential levels across its sub-districts. The analysis was conducted using secondary data from various sources, such as the United States Geological Survey (USGS) for Digital Elevation Model (DEM) and Landsat imagery, as well as geological, rainfall, and land-use data from relevant institutions. The method employed was a weighted overlay analysis of several parameters influencing groundwater potential, including lithology, soil type, slope, rainfall, and land use. The results indicate that areas with gentle slopes, porous lithology, and high rainfall have high groundwater potential, particularly in the central and southern parts of Dairi Regency. In contrast, regions with steep slopes and impermeable rocks show low groundwater potential. The resulting groundwater potential map can serve as a basis for planning and managing water resources sustainably in Dairi Regency
