G30S/PKI 1 Oktober 1965: Fakta Sejarah dan Kontroversi Keterlibatan Soeharto

Abstract

This study discusses the historical facts and controversies surrounding the events of September 30, 1965 (G30S/PKI), with a focus on Suharto's alleged involvement. This study uses a qualitative approach through a literature review, examining official documents, archives, scientific literature, and testimonies from participants to understand the chronology, political dynamics, and the roles of key figures. The results of the study show irregularities in the implementation of the G30S/PKI operation, Suharto's strategic position as a non-target, his closeness to several perpetrators, and allegations of the deployment of certain troops, which raise critical questions about his involvement. This research emphasizes the importance of fact-based historical reconstruction and scientific analysis to obtain an objective understanding, avoid bias in the official narrative, and foster historical awareness among the younger generation.
