Abstract

Globalization, marked by technological advancement, global information flows, and openness in international law, presents both challenges and opportunities for the national legal system and public legal awareness. This study employs a descriptive quantitative survey method using purposive sampling involving 17 respondents aged 19–20 years. Data were collected through an online questionnaire containing both closed-ended and open-ended questions, then analyzed descriptively using percentages, frequencies, and simple thematic analysis.

The results indicate that the majority of respondents understand the concept of globalization and perceive it as having a significant influence on social life, particularly through technology and social media. Globalization is viewed as bringing a balanced mix of positive and negative impacts, although all respondents acknowledge a shift in local values. In the context of law enforcement, respondents believe that the Indonesian legal system has reasonably adapted to global developments, such as human rights issues and cybercrime; however, there remains a high level of distrust regarding the ability of law enforcement officials to handle transnational crimes. Sociologically, globalization increases legal awareness and public participation in monitoring law enforcement.

The conclusion of this study emphasizes that globalization demands law enforcement strategies that are adaptive, integrity-based, and firmly rooted in Pancasila values and local wisdom in order to maintain substantive justice and social stability.
