Abstract

Geography learning is closely related to nature; therefore, the need for learning resources based on natural laboratories is highly essential. Ideally, geography learning should not always be conducted inside the classroom but can also take place outside the classroom by utilizing local potential as a learning resource. This study aims to analyze the utilization of local potential in the Batu Lawang Area, Cupang Village, Gempol Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency, as a natural laboratory-based learning resource in geography education. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using the triangulation method, which includes observation, interviews, and documentation studies. Based on the complex natural conditions, the results of the study indicate that the Batu Lawang Area, Cupang Village, Gempol Subdistrict, Cirebon Regency, has significant potential to be developed as a natural laboratory-based learning source in geography education. These potentials include geological, geomorphological, hydrological, and socio-cultural aspects.
