Abstract

Abstract

East Java is one of the provinces with agricultural products contributing 11.5% of the total GRDP (Gross Regional Domestic Product) throughout 2021. According to the Agriculture Service compiled by the Central Statistics Agency in 2017, data shows that one of the sweet potato commodities has a harvestedarea of 10,028 Ha, with a productivity of 256.70 (Kw/Ha) and a total production of 257,414 tons. However, the abundance of sweet potato production in East Java is not equivalent to the diversification of processed sweet potato products with high selling power. In fact, one way to increase potential growth inthe region is to utilize commodities that are the driving sector of the economy to be developed intoleading sectors. Therefore, the purpose of community service will be focused on the use of diversifiedprocessed Ipomoea batatas products to support the creative economy in the leading sector in East Java byproviding opportunities for students to run entrepreneurship in the food sector. The service activities carried out will be guided by the Main Performance Indicators (IKU) published by the Ministry of Education and Culture, especially IKU 5, namely the work of lecturers used by the community and IKU2, where students gain experience outside of campus (entrepreneurship).

Abstrak

Jawa Timur adalah salah satu provinsi dengan hasil pertanian menyumbang 11.5% dari total PDRB(Produk Domestik Regional Bruto) sepanjang tahun 2021. Menurut Dinas Pertanian yang dihimpun olehBadan Pusat Statistik pada tahun 2017 didapatkan data bahwa salah satu komoditi ubi jalar memiliki Luas Panen sebesar 10.028 Ha, dengan produktivitas sebesar 256.70 (Kw/Ha) dan jumlah produksi mencapai 257.414 ton. Namun, berlimpahnya produksi ubi jalar di Jawa Timur tidak ekuivalen dengandiversifikasi produk olahan ubi jalar yang berdaya jual tinggi. Padahal, salah satu cara untuk meningkatkan pertumbuhan potensi di daerah adalah dengan memanfaatkan komoditas yang menjadi sektor penggerak ekonomi untuk dikembangkan menjadi sektor unggulan. Oleh karena itu, tujuanpengabdian masyarakat akan dititik beratkan pada pemanfaatan diversifikasi produk olahan Ipomoeabatatas (Ubi Jalar) untuk mendukung ekonomi kreatif pada sektor unggulan di jawa timur dengan caramemberikan kesempatan mahasiswa untuk menjalankan kewirausahaan di bidang pangan. Kegiatanpengabdian yang dilakukan akan berpedoman pada Indikator Kinerja Utama (IKU) yang diterbitkan olehKemendikbud terutama IKU 5 yaitu hasil kerja dosen digunakan oleh masyarakat dan IKU2 yaitumahasiswa mendapatkan pengalaman di luar kampus (berwirausaha).
