Abstract

Abstract

Although MSMEs are crucial to the village economy, they often face challenges such as a lack of information, market access, and capital. To address these challenges, the Watesjaya Village community service program employed two main approaches: a halal certification workshop and the implementation of the Getuk Tular participatory financing scheme facilitated by the Village-Owned Enterprise (BUMDES). The halal workshop increased MSMEs' understanding of the importance of product legality, and 12 of the 15 participating MSMEs immediately registered their businesses with the SIHALAL system. Conversely, the Getuk Tular scheme, a mutual cooperation-based financing innovation, offers more inclusive access to capital for MSMEs.The integration of these two programs demonstrates that the competitiveness of MSMEs is not only determined by product quality and assurance, but also by sustainable access to business capital. As a result, MSMEs in Watesjaya Village increased customer trust and confidence through halal certification and increased capital capacity through Getuk Tular. Therefore, by combining halal certification methods and a participatory financing program based on BUMDES, a sustainable, competitive MSME empowerment ecosystem can be created that can be applied in other villages.
