ICGSB applies an anonymous peer review process. Every submitted manuscript is reviewed by at least two independent reviewers, followed by editorial comments. The decision to accept or reject a manuscript is made by the Editor-in-Chief or by an editor whose expertise matches the field of the research (the list of editors is available on the Editorial Board page). A summary of the editorial process is shown in the flowchart below.
1. Initial Manuscript Check
After submission, an initial check is carried out to assess whether the manuscript fits the journal’s scope and follows the template, to review the authors’ qualifications and background, and to reject manuscripts of clearly poor quality.
2. Anonymous Peer Review
The journal uses single-blind peer review: authors do not know the identity of the reviewers, but reviewers know the identity of the authors. To support the academic editors, ICGSB staff handle all communication with authors, reviewers, and external editors. Editors can check the status of a manuscript and the identity of its reviewers at any time. Reviewers are given two weeks to write their reviews. For revised manuscripts, reviewers are asked to submit their reports within one week. In both cases, extensions may be granted upon request.
3. Editorial Decision
After peer review, the decision on acceptance is made by an editor (the list of editors is available on the Editorial Board page). The editor may accept the manuscript, reject it, ask the authors to revise it, or request additional reviewers. If an article is suspected of plagiarism, the editorial office will check it using Turnitin.
