Environmental awareness and its relationship with plant literacy and green school management

Lingkungan dan bumi terancam akibat perubahan iklim dan aktivitas manusia. Kesadaran lingkungan seseorang berkaitan dengan kemampuan memahami peran tanaman dan pertanian dalam ekosistem dan pendidikan lingkungan, yang idealnya didapatkan sejak dini. Pendidikan sekolah hijau di Indonesia dikenal dengan program Adiwiyata yang diterapkan di berbagai jenjang sekolah, yaitu sekolah dasar hingga sekolah menengah atas bahkan perguruan tinggi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi kesadaran lingkungan siswa sekolah menengah atas dan korelasinya dengan pemahaman siswa terhadap peran tanaman dan pertanian serta persepsi mereka terhadap manajemen sekolah hijau. Sekolah yang menjadi sampel adalah dua sekolah menengah atas negeri dan dua sekolah menengah atas swasta dari delapan sekolah menengah atas yang ada di Kota Salatiga, Provinsi Jawa Tengah. Data primer dikumpulkan melalui wawancara dengan panduan kuesioner yang dimasukkan ke dalam formulir Google, sedangkan data sekunder diperoleh dari dokumentasi sekolah dan literatur pendukung. Uji instrumen penelitian menggunakan uji validitas dan reliabilitas terhadap ketiga variabel yang diteliti. Responden penelitian adalah siswa SMA kelas 11 (kelas dua) yang ditentukan dengan sistem kuota, berjumlah 120 siswa. Teknik analisis data menggunakan statistik deskriptif dan uji korelasi Rank Spearman. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya hubungan yang signifikan dan kuat antara kesadaran lingkungan siswa dengan pemahaman siswa terhadap peran tumbuhan dan pertanian (r = 0,740).
