Journal History and Management

COMMUNICATIONS is a scholarly research journal first published in 2019, with Dr. Dini Safitri serving as its Editor-in-Chief since its establishment. The journal is managed by the Bachelor of Communication Studies Program, Universitas Negeri Jakarta, as part of the university’s commitment to advancing academic research and publication in the field of communication studies.

Indexing and Accreditation History

In 2021, COMMUNICATIONS received official accreditation through the Notification of Scientific Journal Accreditation Results, Period I (2021), as stated in the Decree of the Director General of Higher Education, Research, and Technology No. 158/E/KPT/2021, dated 9 December 2021. Based on this decree, COMMUNICATIONS was accredited at SINTA 4, covering publications from Volume 1 Number 2 (2019) to Volume 6 Number 1 (2024).

Collaboration and Partnerships

Since 2023, COMMUNICATIONS has been an active member of the Indonesian Association of Communication Journal Managers (APJIKI) under Memorandum of Understanding No. 187/MOU/APJIKI/II/2023. In 2024, the journal further strengthened its institutional network through collaboration with ASPIKOM (Asosiasi Pendidikan Tinggi Ilmu Komunikasi), reinforcing its commitment to academic quality, editorial development, and national collaboration in communication studies.
