History of The Journal

The Doctoral Research Presentation & International Conference on Global Social & Business Transformation (ICGSB) originated from a collaborative initiative between the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) and the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH), Universitas Negeri Jakarta (UNJ), together with Universitas Insan Pembangunan Indonesia (UNIPI), Universitas Ibn Khaldun Bogor, and Universitas Muhammadiyah Cirebon. The initiative was driven by the need for an international scholarly forum that responds to the rapid transformation of the business world brought about by technological advancement, sustainability demands, and digital change. ICGSB provides a collaborative space for doctoral students, lecturers, researchers, industry practitioners, and government and research institutions to share cutting-edge insights, present emerging research, and build strong academic and professional networks, while showcasing the scholarly contributions of doctoral students from the Philippine Women’s University on a global stage.

In 2026, ICGSB carried the theme “Global Social & Business Transformation: Innovation, Sustainability, and Strategic Leadership in the Digital Era,” reflecting a commitment to advancing knowledge that is responsive to global change and societal needs. The conference was held on April 16–18, 2026, in a hybrid format, on-site at Universitas Negeri Jakarta and online via Zoom and YouTube. It covered seven sub-themes: sustainable business models and green innovation; digital transformation and competitive advantage; strategic leadership in uncertain environments; entrepreneurship, innovation ecosystems, and emerging markets; global finance, risk management, and future trends; social and humanities perspectives in business; and education. The conference featured distinguished speakers from universities, government bodies, and international research institutions in the Philippines, Indonesia, Malaysia, and beyond, and attracted broad participation from the international academic community.

In response to the growing need for high-quality scholarly publication, ICGSB developed its official proceedings as a publication medium for the full papers of conference participants. Papers presented at the conference are processed through a standardized editorial and peer review mechanism and published under an open access model, making them widely accessible to the scholarly community and the general public.

To manage the publication process, ICGSB adopts the Open Journal Systems (OJS) to ensure professional manuscript management, from submission, peer review, and revision to publication. The use of this system supports transparency and enhances the quality of the scholarly publications produced.

As its activities continue to develop and its scope expands, ICGSB is committed to establishing itself not only as an international conference but also as a credible publication channel that contributes to the advancement of knowledge in social and business transformation studies.
