License & Copyright

ICGSB allows authors to hold the copyright without restrictions and to retain publishing rights without restrictions. ICGSB uses the CC BY license or an equivalent license as the optimal license for the publication, distribution, use, and reuse of scholarly work.

In developing its strategy and setting priorities, ICGSB recognizes that free access is better than priced access, libre access is better than free access, and libre access under CC BY or an equivalent license is better than libre access under more restrictive open licenses. We should achieve what we can when we can. We should not delay achieving free access in order to achieve libre access, and we should not stop at free access when we can achieve libre access.

ICGSB works are licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License.

You are free to:

  • Share – copy and redistribute the material in any medium or format.
  • Adapt – remix, transform, and build upon the material for any purpose, even commercially.
  • The licensor cannot revoke these freedoms as long as you follow the license terms.

Copyright without Restrictions

This journal allows authors to hold the copyright without restrictions and to retain publishing rights without restrictions.

Submitted manuscripts are assumed not to contain any copyrighted material that is not protected by a patent or patent application. Responsibility for the technical content and for the protection of copyrighted material rests entirely with the authors and their organizations, not with the ICGSB Editorial Board. The main author (first or corresponding author) is responsible for ensuring that the article has been seen and approved by all other authors. It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain all necessary copyright release permissions for the use of any copyrighted material in the manuscript before submission.

What are my rights as an author?

It is important to check the policy of the journal to which you are submitting or in which you are publishing to determine your rights as an author. ICGSB’s standard policy allows the following reuse rights:

  • The journal allows authors to hold the copyright without restrictions.

  • Once the article has been accepted for publication, you may post the accepted version on your personal website, your department’s website, or your institutional repository without restrictions.
  • You may use the published article for your own teaching needs or share it individually with fellow researchers, provided that this is not for commercial purposes.
  • When posting or reusing the article, please include a link to the appropriate DOI of the version of the article published in ICGSB.
