An in-depth qualitative study of the teen drama film ‘Dua Garis Biru’ (2019) reveals the construction of representations of ethical issues and social realities among teenagers, focusing on pregnancy outside of marriage. The film predominantly explores ethical issues through the representation of Bima and Dara's shared responsibility, highlighting the complex moral dilemma between personal dreams (education) and parental obligations, while rejecting abortion and promoting the ethics of responsibility for life. In social reality, the film shows the social class gap that exacerbates conflict and stigma, and presents a sharp critique of the taboo of sex education and closed communication patterns in Indonesian families. Overall, ‘Dua Garis Biru’ serves as a powerful agent of social discourse, advocating the importance of open communication and non-judgmental family support.
