About the Journal

VISI : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal with e-ISSN: 2620-5254 electronic version is published by Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Universitas Negeri Jakarta in cooperation. Published every June and December, this journal containing research articles in the field of Nonformal Education with the scope of:

  1. The theoretical perspective on nonformal education: a study on the definition and concept of nonformal education, as well as the theoretical framework used to understand the nature of nonformal education.
  2. Community education: early childhood education, family education, learning communities, continuing education.
  3. Adult education: informal and non-formal education, for example in the form of skills education, education courses, training, entrepreneurship, and so on.
  4. Lifeskills: personal skills, social skills, academic skills, vocational skills. 
  5. Community empowerment: economic empowerment, education empowerment, religious empowerment, agricultural empowerment, health empowerment.
  6. Equivalency Education: homeschooling, non-formal schools, gender education, life skills education, and so on.

Open Access Policy

All articles published by VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal are made immediately available worldwide under an open access license. This means:

  • everyone has free and unlimited access to the full-text of all articles published in VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal journals, and
  • everyone is free to re-use the published material if proper accreditation/citation of the original publication is given.

This aligns with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

Focus and Scope of The Journal

VISI : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal contained results of the research which focused about

  1. The theoretical perspective on nonformal education: a study on the definition and concept of nonformal education, as well as the theoretical framework used to understand the nature of nonformal education.
  2. Community education: early childhood education, family education, learning communities, continuing education.
  3. Adult education: informal and non-formal education, for example in the form of skills education, education courses, training, entrepreneurship, and so on.
  4. Lifeskills: personal skills, social skills, academic skills, vocational skills.

Article Processing Charges (APCs)

VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal all articles in a fully open access format ensuring that the scientific community and the general public have free, unlimited, and immediate access to all content as soon as it is published online. This aligns with the principles of the Budapest Open Access Initiative.

VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal does not generate income from selling subscriptions, charging "pay-per-view" fees, or restricting access to its articles. To cover the costs associated with editorial processes, peer review, production, and online hosting, VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal collects an Article Processing Charge (APC).

  • APC Details:
    • The APC is USD 120.00 or the equivalent of IDR 1,500,000.00.
    • APCs are only payable once an article has successfully passed peer review and has been accepted for publication.
    • Submission toPerspektif Ilmu Pendidikan is free of charge, and no fees are incurred during the initial submission or review process.

VISI: Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal is committed to transparency in all author charges:

  • No hidden charges: Authors are not required to pay submission fees, editorial processing fees, page charges, or color charges.
  • Fee waivers: Authors who are unable to pay the APC may request a waiver. Waivers are considered on a case-by-case basis and must include details such as the reason for the request and the time period for which the waiver applies.

History of The Journal

VISI : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal was first published in printed format (registered P-ISSN 1907-9176) on June 2006 by Fakultas Ilmu Pendidikan (FIP) Universitas Negeri Jakarta in cooperation with Direktorat Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal, which later changed the name to Direktorat Pembinaan Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini, Nonformal dan Informal renamed for the second time to Direktorat Pembinaan Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini dan Pendidikan Masyarakat and then recently renamed to Direktorat  Guru dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Anak Usia Dini. This journal is available in electronic format with registered E-ISSN 2620-5254 since 2018. Starting in 2021, we only uses electronic ISSN (E-ISSN) in our online articles. The first web address of VISI : Jurnal Ilmiah Pendidik dan Tenaga Kependidikan Pendidikan Non Formal is http://journal.unj.ac.id/jurnalfip/ but in 2017, the web address became http://journal.unj.ac.id/unj/index.php/ jiv/
