Jurnal Pemberdayaan Masyarakat Madani (JPMM) accepts three types of manuscripts[cite: 76]. Please choose the type that best fits your work and use the matching template[cite: 76].

1. Original Research Article

5,000–8,000 words | Single-blind review | Two files

Reports original empirical research, qualitative, quantitative, or mixed methods, that makes a clear contribution to community empowerment, applied economics, business, and social welfare[cite: 76].

  • Structure: Introduction (with a required Theoretical framework or Conceptual framework subheading), Method, Results and Discussion, Conclusion[cite: 76].
  • Abstract: 150–200 words, covering purpose, design/method, findings, and originality/value[cite: 76].
  • References: Minimum of 17 references, at least 80% from peer-reviewed journals published in the last 10 years[cite: 76].
  • Ethics: Ethics approval and informed consent for research with human participants[cite: 76].

2. Systematic Literature Review

5,000–8,000 words | PRISMA 2020 | Single-blind review | Two files + checklist

Synthesises existing research on a clearly defined question using a transparent, replicable method[cite: 76]. Narrative overviews without a systematic method are not accepted[cite: 76].

  • Structure: Introduction (with Theoretical/Conceptual framework), Method (protocol and registration, eligibility criteria, search strategy, selection, quality appraisal, synthesis), Results, Discussion, Conclusion[cite: 76].
  • Title: Must identify the article as a systematic literature review[cite: 76].
  • Abstract: 150–200 words, following PRISMA 2020 for Abstracts[cite: 76].
  • Required: PRISMA flow diagram in the text; completed PRISMA 2020 checklist as a supplementary file[cite: 76].

3. Book Review

1,000–1,500 words | Editorial review | One file

A critical assessment of a recent scholarly book relevant to community empowerment, business, applied economics, or related multidisciplinary fields[cite: 76].

  • Book: Published within the last three years; contact the Book Review Editor before writing[cite: 76].
  • Structure: Full bibliographic details, then continuous prose (context and aims, overview, critical evaluation, contribution, concluding assessment); no abstract, keywords, or headings[cite: 76].
  • End: Reviewer details, Disclosure Statement, and Declaration of Generative AI Use[cite: 76].

Not Accepted

Manuscripts outside the journal's scope; purely descriptive reports without theoretical framing or analysis; narrative literature reviews without a systematic method; opinion pieces; and work already published or under review elsewhere[cite: 76].
