Peer Review Process
A manuscript submitted is evaluated through Initial Review by Editorial Board. Editorial Board will check the manuscript regarding the scope, originality, novelty sufficiency of experimental data, and format. At least two peer reviewers are assigned to review the manuscript with the Blind Review Process. Two weeks is a location time given to peer reviewers to evaluate the manuscript. After the review process finished, the assigned editor decides for the article. If the article needs revision, the manuscript is returned to the authors to revise. These processes take a month (maximum time). If the decision is major revision or resubmission, the revised manuscript that has been resubmitted by the submitter is sent back to the previous peer reviewers for re-evaluation. After that, the editor makes the final decision (accepted or rejected). Peer reviewers will be rated based on substantial and technical aspects. The peer reviewer assignment depends on the expertise and experiences in research and publication relevant to the field of the manuscript to be reviewed.
Editorial & Review Process
JPP (Jurnal Pendidikan dan Perhotelan applies a blind peer review process. Editor-in-Chief or editor in accordance with the field of research (the list is on the Editorial Board page) provides acceptance/rejection decisions. A summary of the editorial process given in the flowchart below.
- Manuscript Pre-check
After submission, this check is initially to assess: Suitability of the manuscript to the journal scope and templates; Qualification and background of authors; and Reject obviously poor manuscripts. - Blind peer-review
The process is blind peer review,To assist academic editors, JPP (Jurnal Pendidikan dan Perhotelan staff handle all communication with authors, reviewers, and the external editor. Editor will check the status of manuscripts and the identity of reviewers at any time. Reviewers are given two weeks to write their review. For the review of a revised manuscript, reviewers are asked to provide their report within one week. In both cases, extensions can be granted on request. - Editor Decision
Acceptance decisions on manuscripts, after peer review, are made by an editor (the list is on the Editorial Boardpage). The editor can select from: accept, reject, ask author for revision, ask for an additional reviewer. If there is any suspicion that a paper may contain plagiarism, the editorial office will check using the Turnitin software
